Last week was a catch up but this week seems to e too busy to even post. Spring is here along with Easter- too fast, too furious. Looks like I will be extending 8 to next week.

I wonder who else is in the same frame of mind as I am.

Prof. Development, Parent Conferences, Field trip with 50 middle schoolers, just no time!

I have been playing around with blogs, facebook and news feeds. I have news feeds set up on google and yahoo and have been reading them for quite some time. I set some up on Facebook. I even have a few additional friends on Facebook.

I am still exploring and will continue to play around some more.

I have talked to many people who are on face book and my space. Most times they are the younger teachers that I work with and of course the students and my own son who is in college. I have set up a facebook account. Not sure how I am planning to use this. My son and the young teachers I know use it for dating and getting to make friends. Vermont is not the easiest place to move into. Most of the young teachers have difficulty making friends.

I have been in the Manchester community for quite some time. I have made friends and am involved in many local organizations. I’m not so sure I have time for more.

I went into my Facebook account and I now have 5 friends. I am not sure how much I will use this. I read some library news feeds but haven’t quite found one that hits my fancy.

I did find a nice blog from the Northside Elem. Library. The librarian posts new titles that she has read or that come to the library each school quarter. Nice idea.

I have spent the last hour looking at library weblogs. I even listened to one in Swedish. can’t say that I would take time to do this on my own. I have better things to do. The weblogs are very personal in the sense of being focused on the personality of the weblogger.

Too many to read and nothing that hits my fancy, not that I know what my particular fancy would be, but maybe there is some blog out there that I would get into.

I went to both bloglines and google reader and read the info I decided to go with google reader as I already have a google account and have used many of the features. I set up three RSS feeds.

I can see where this could be helpful.

I wonder if I will have enough time to read any of it.

Ah the technical things in life. For the longest time I held off getting a cell phone. Swore I would never use one but my son went off to college and we decided to sign up for family phones. I love my cell phone. I can call from anywhere which is the greatest feature. I do a lot of traveling in the summer for work and it is not always handy getting to a phone. I was able to keep in touch with my family regularly and my family could keep in touch with me.

I finally got my own ipod. Love listening to the music. I do want to learn more about podcasting.

I did hear that once you get up on FaceBook it is really hard to pull off your profile. My young teacher friends are all on Facebook. They said it is better than MySpace. Not sure how much social networking I am ready for. I use email a lot to keep in touch with friends. Everything takes up so much more time. Time on computer networking is less time reading my wonderful books. In the midst of purchasing some playaways. It will be interesting to see if it will be picked up readily by the kids in my school.

I still love to hold that book.

Got excited about all the new techno after going to Reno.

I was playing around with a flickr toy. I think I finally got it working. It only took me 60 min. I hope it works! It works on my flickr page anyway.

IMe in the big chair wanted to download the program and play with it at my leisure but alas I have a MAC and the file is a exe file only for pc’s.

Hmmm. I went onto the flickr mosaic page and searched for books. The mosaic that came up was incredible. I emailed it to my gmail account and low and behold I went to the website and there was just a blank screen. Not sure why that happened. It could be google as sometimes they strip things. I will try emailing to another account and see what happens. Good thing there are good programmers out there who like figuring this stuff out. I like to use the websites but I am very glad I don’t have to do the code myself.

Nope i must be doing something wrong. Sent it to another email but the same thing happened.  I am not doing something but what that something is I don’t have a clue.
